Costa Rica’s definitely on my bucket list, and Lapa Rios is up there on places to visit. For one thing, their list of on-site and nearby activities could keep you busy for a month; kayaking, horseback riding, surfing lessons and yoga, of course, but waterfall rapelling? Sounds pretty cool.

But in addition to all that, the lodge is offering something special to walkers and runners: the 18-km Lapathon Jungle Run, taking place on May 6. All proceeds from the $20 entry fee are being used to help restore and equip the local sports centre, and winners will receive travel experiences including accommodation at the lodge.
